| Biography
Though she has studied classical piano first, LadyV has always sung. She fancies jazz music above all and that has naturally led her to the music academy of Metz, where she obtained her diploma in jazz singing in the class of the French pedagogue and jazz singer Laurence Saltiel in 1998.
She has a passion for beautiful notes, vocal harmonies, and “words that sound”. First, she has improved these separately, the notes within her piano, a viola da gamba, her voice, and the words while writing poems and plays for her pupils. They were logically meant to match within the art of song-writing.
Her musical influences begin with the French famous composer Michel Legrand and travel through the standards of the Broadway musicals and she finds her taste for beautiful languages and musical poems in the examples of Claude Nougaro or the French singer Juliette. Moreover, she loves meeting people, communicating and transmitting which has led her to teaching and animating experiences with a variety of publics.
As a singer, she performs in duet (piano/voice), quintett (with a rythm section), or vocal trio with both MALUMA and the SOURIS GRISENT (the group performing “attention minable” on the album with her). Between 2006 and 2009 she worked on her first solo album for which she wrote both musics and lyrics (principally in French).
An album like a tribute to all the musical styles related to jazz music that she loves above all : swing, blues, bossa-nova, tango, ballad, jazz-waltz... An opus which is an invitation to a travel in her colorful and contrasted landscapes where happiness is never far from the Brazilian sense of sorrow so-called “saudade”, where anger fights with tenderness, or humour sounds with love. |
